Chinese Truck Manufacturer SINOTRUK Bucks The Trend in 2023

China Domestic Heavy Truck Market Down 51.8% year-on-year but SINOTRUCK Shows Strong Sales

The Chinese automotive industry endured a challenging year in 2022 according to figures released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. The figures show that the sales volume of domestic trucks in 2022 reached 2.893 million vehicles, a drop of 32.6% from the previous year. From the overall sales a total of 672,000 Heavy-Duty Trucks were sold which was down 51.8% year-on-year.

However, it's not all bad news for Chinese heavy truck manufacturing, SINOTRUK, one of the leading Chinese heavy truck manufacturers bucked this trend, experiencing an upswing instead. Incredibly, they sold 249,000 trucks last year and generated a revenue of over $17.6 billion dollars (121.4 billion yuan). Demonstrating strong sales in 2022 and the lowest drop of any Chinese heavy truck manufacturer further consolidating it's position as a leader in the Chinese domestic heavy truck market.

Leading the way in recent years SINOTRUK has invested heavily in research and development. In 2021 it invested $536 million dollars (3.7 billion yaun)  85% up from its R&D investment in 2018. SINOTRUK has invested a total of $1.5 billion dollars over the past four years which is more than it has invested in the previous decade. Not only helping to cement it's position in the Chinese domestic market but also adding value to it's partners supply-chain worldwide.

SINOTRUK has also invested $2.2 billion dollars to build Intelligent Connected (New Energy) Heavy-Duty Trucks. The project which is based in Laiwu, Shandong province China has an annual production capacity of 100,000 units in it's first phase. This has the potential to revolutionise the Chinese heavy-duty truck market with its high-end, connected, greener truck innovations. At the forefront of this smart production site is the Huanghe X7 Series and HOWO TH7/TX series  – SINOTRUK’s latest generation of heavy-duty trucks. These boast exceptional features such as <0.36 ultra-low wind resistance,  ultra-low fuel consumption, and efficient streamline designs – all setting the bar for the transportation and logistics industry.
