Practical guidance for buyers and sellers to stay safe when using HGV Traders and completing vehicle transactions.
1. General principles
HGV Traders connects buyers with registered dealers. We do not handle vehicle payments between parties. Always verify who you are dealing with before transferring money or releasing a vehicle.
2. Advice for buyers
- Inspect the vehicle in person or arrange a trusted inspection before paying.
- Confirm the seller matches the dealer profile on HGV Traders.
- Be wary of prices far below market value or pressure to pay quickly.
- Never send deposits to personal accounts without verifying the dealer business.
- Use verified enquiry flows on the platform rather than moving to unmonitored channels too early.
- Report suspicious listings or messages to hello@hgvtraders.com.
3. Advice for dealers
- Keep dashboard credentials secure and use strong unique passwords.
- Review buyer verification and intent details before committing stock.
- Be cautious of overpayment scams and fake bank transfer confirmations.
- Confirm payment cleared in your bank before releasing keys or documents.
- Report impersonation or fraudulent buyer activity to us immediately.
4. Phishing and account security
We will never ask for your password by email. Sign in only at hgvtraders.com. If you receive suspicious messages claiming to be from HGV Traders, forward them to hello@hgvtraders.com.
5. Reporting concerns
Contact hello@hgvtraders.com to report fraud, suspicious listings, or security vulnerabilities. For crimes in progress, contact Action Fraud (actionfraud.police.uk) or the police.
