The new T480 6x2 pushers feature Renault Trucks Turbo Compound technology, with the move to a more fuel-efficient model cited as the key reason for the deal.

Having previously taken thirty-three 65 plate 11 litre Range T460 6x2 used trucks in 2020, the five new T480s, supplied by Renault Truck Commercials in Felixstowe, are part of a fleet upgrade and are the first of an initial order of 22 new vehicles.

VKVP’s sleeper-cabbed T480s are equipped with the Renault Trucks’ latest DE13 TC engine, featuring Turbo Compound technology, which provides significant fuel savings without compromising drivability or commercial speed, as well as reducing CO2 emissions.

VKVP Haulage Managing Director, Vladislav Pantelej says:“We’ve been working with Renault Trucks for a few years and the service has always been spot on. I was looking to upgrade the fleet so when I heard that a new turbo compound engine had been released, it was an obvious choice for me to switch to the new, more fuel-efficient models.”

The T480s come with the new generation Optidriver gearbox AT2812 which incorporates a new calculator, new control software and a new clutch actuator, for smoother and faster gear changes. For greater fuel savings, the vehicles are fitted with Eco Cruise Control with Optiroll and Smart Torque Control solution which maximises the time spent in the zone with the best engine efficiency. 

The new vehicles will be deployed across the UK on container work out of Felixstowe, London Gateway and Southampton docks and Vladislav cites the dealer’s customer service as a crucial element to selecting Renault Trucks.  He says: “The service we receive from Renault Truck Commercials with our existing vehicles has been faultless.
