Job Description

Are you passionate about sales and looking for an exciting opportunity to be a part of a brand-new team?
We are looking for a Group Used Buyer / Stock Manager to join us at our Ipswich site.
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum plus Bonus (OTE up to: £47,000 - £52,000)

As the Group Used Van Buyer, your primary responsibility will be to source, evaluate, and purchase used Mercedes-Benz Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) for resale.

You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our inventory of Mercedes-Benz Approved Used LCVs, ensuring their quality, value, and marketability. Your ability to negotiate effectively and make informed purchasing decisions will be essential in this role.

You will also have managerial responsibility of a Used Progressor to assist with the delivery of your responsibilities.

WORKING HOURS

Monday to Friday & 08:30 – 5:00pm

ABOUT THE ROLE

Specialising in van sales, you will form part of our newly formed telesales team that will be responsible for handling all inbound van sales enquiries. You’ll be speaking with customers about their vehicle needs, qualifying and assessing their requirements by walking them through our pre-defined customer journey with the aim of providing their new vehicle.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

Vehicle Sourcing:

· Identify potential sources for used Mercedes-Benz Vans, including auctions, dealerships, private sellers, and online marketplaces.
· Establish and maintain relationships with sellers, wholesalers, and relevant industry contacts.

Market Research:

· Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and demand for LCVs.
· Analyse market data to determine which makes, models, and configurations are in demand.

Vehicle Appraisal & Preparation:

· Conduct thorough physical inspections of LCVs to assess their condition, mileage, and overall quality.
· Document and report any defects or necessary repairs.

Valuation and Pricing:

· Accurately assess the fair market value of used LCVs based on condition, mileage, age, and market trends.
· Set competitive selling prices that maximise profitability.

Negotiation:

· Negotiate with sellers to secure favourable purchase terms, including price, financing, and trade-ins.
· Use effective communication and negotiation skills to reach mutually beneficial agreements.

Documentation:

· Complete all necessary paperwork related to vehicle purchases, including titles, invoices, and transfer of ownership documents.
· Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Inventory Management:

· Stock management with daily price checks to ensure vehicles remain competitively prices.
· Organise and manage the physical and digital inventory of used LCVs.
· Ensure no vehicle surpasses 90 days in stock.

Quality Control:

· Ensure that all vehicles meet our quality standards and are ready for resale.
· Coordinate any necessary preparation costs with the workshop.

Reporting:

· Generate regular reports on purchasing activity, inventory turnover, and market insights for management review.

Marketing:

· Oversee the advertising of all used stock. Ensure vehicles are photographed & videoed to an industry leading standard.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

· Proven experience in the commercial automotive industry, preferably LCVs.
· Strong knowledge of Light Commercial Vehicles and the used vehicle market.
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Detail-oriented with the ability to assess vehicle condition accurately.
· Proficient in using computer software for inventory management and data analysis.
· Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to vehicle purchases.
· Valid driver's license.

· To undertake all health and safety training as required in a timely manner.
· To undertake all training as required by Motus Truck and Van and MBUK from time to time.

WORKING HOURS

40-hour week which will require a level of flexibility.
