Job Description
- Responsible for carrying out major diagnostic work, assisting technicians with complex repairs, and ensuring that off-road vehicles are diagnosed and correctly repaired the first time.
- To prepare vehicles for MOT inspection and to undertake the final quality inspection of the vehicle for customer handover.
- Providing breakdown cover as part of a weekly rota will also be required.
- Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards and in compliance with legal or company standards
- Always maintain a safe and clean working environment, reporting immediately any deficiencies.
About You
- A Manufacturer Certified Master Technician Qualification (essential).
- A recognised Motor Industry Apprenticeship (essential).
- Roadside recovery certified (desirable).
- PCV/PSV license (desirable).
- Experience of working within a busy workshop is essential.
- Experience of roadside recovery of commercial vehicles is desirable.
- Electro/mechanical knowledge relevant to the bus and coach industry is desirable.
- A strong and comprehensive understanding of PSV vehicle electrical systems is essential.
- The essentials of Health and Safety in a commercial vehicle environment.
On Offer
- A competitive rate of pay up to £22.93 an hour (inclusive of a 10% shift allowance) dependent upon skills and experience.
- A 42-hour working week with a rotating shift pattern between 06:00hrs and 18:30hrs (excluding weekends).
- Overtime paid at time plus 50% basic hourly rate on weekdays and time plus 75% basic hourly rate on weekends.
- Additional call-out allowance.
- 33 days holiday per year including statutory holidays.
