A New Era in Heavy Commercial Vehicles with Ecotorq GEN2 Exclusive to F-MAX and F-LINE
Specially designed for the F-MAX and F-LINE models, which are highly acclaimed in the European markets, this new engine stands out with its durability, robustness, superior performance, fuel saving and environmentally friendly features that provide maximum efficiency compared to the previous generation.

Ford Trucks reinforces its position in the heavy commercial vehicle market with its Ecotorq GEN2 engine with a 12.7-liter capacity at EU6 emission standards, which is compatible with 70% of its vehicle lineup. Developed in harmony with F-LINE and F-MAX models, this next- generation engine has been extensively tested in different climatic and road conditions, taking performance and durability to the next level compared to the previous generation. Fuel consumption tests conducted on vehicle features ensure that the engine and all vehicle systems operate at maximum efficiency.

Ford Trucks makes a significant move with its next-generation Ecotorq GEN2 engine, focusing on reducing total cost of ownership as its main priority. Replacing its current Ecotorq GEN1.5 engine with the newly redesigned new generation Ecotorq GEN2 engine, Ford Trucks aims to achieve significantly better durability and longevity metrics, along with up to an 11.3% improvement in fuel consumption through vehicle-level optimizations. Compatible with HVO (Hydrogen Treated Vegetable Oil) fuel types, the Ecotorq GEN2 engine delivers enhanced power and efficiency, offering customers a more economical and environmentally friendly driving experience.

In line with its customer-centric approach, Ford Trucks has tested the new Ecotorq GEN2 engine in 8 different countries under varying road and climate conditions for over 25,000 hours and more than 1.5 million kilometers. Collaborating with selected customers during the product development process, Ford Trucks has evaluated the engine in the most challenging usage scenarios, aiming to deliver a performance that meets customer expectations at the highest level.

In addition to the Ecotorq GEN2 engine, this project introduces several new features for the F-MAX series. Aerodynamic enhancements in the vehicle cabin reduce air resistance and contribute to fuel consumption. The front air suspension system increases driving comfort and makes long journeys more comfortable. The newly designed tire pattern and mirror camera system further improve fuel efficiency, while innovations such as lower gear ratios and overdrive transmission, which allows the engine to operate at lower rpm when the vehicle is cruising in the highest gear, also help increase engine’s efficiency. Moreover, Ford Trucks takes the F-MAX series one step further with Active Grill Shutters and Return Spring Caliper features, as well as additional technologies that support engine efficiency and fuel economy.
