A Plessas Transport expands KRONE fleet with further container equipment investment

A Plessas Transport has continued to expand its container transport capability with a significant investment in KRONE equipment, taking delivery of 18 KRONE Box Liner FS10 sliding chassis trailers over the past 12 months, alongside three Krone eLT3-40 straight frames. A further three FS10 chassis are now on order.

Based in Felixstowe, A Plessas Transport specialises in container haulage services, supporting customers with UK-wide container movements from major ports including Felixstowe and London Gateway.

The company’s continued investment in additional chassis capacity reflects the increasing demands of its operation and the need to maintain the flexibility required to support a growing customer base and a diverse range of container movements.

The latest KRONE investment forms part of A Plessas Transport’s ongoing fleet development programme, with the company selecting a combination of sliding chassis and straight frames to provide greater operational choice across different container transport requirements.

“Our business has continued to grow, and as that happens, we need equipment that gives us the confidence to maintain the service levels our customers expect,” says Andreas Plessas, Director of A Plessas Transport. “We have been impressed with the performance of the KRONE equipment within our operation. The FS10 chassis have provided the flexibility we need for a wide range of container movements, which is why we have continued to invest in further units.”

The KRONE Box Liner FS10 is a sliding chassis designed for container transport applications and allows operators to accommodate different container lengths and configurations, providing flexibility for intermodal transport operations where equipment needs to adapt to varying requirements.

Alongside the FS10 units, A Plessas Transport has also taken delivery of three KRONE eLT3-40 straight frames, adding further options to its container fleet.

“The different types of chassis give us options depending on the requirements of each job,” adds Andreas. “Having the right equipment available helps us plan our operation effectively and respond quickly when customer requirements change.

“KRONE has shown a good understanding of what we need as a growing container operator. The quality of the equipment and the support we have received have given us confidence to continue investing in their products.”

According to KRONE, the eLT3-40 straight frame is part of its container chassis range developed for efficient and practical container transport operations. The straight frame configuration provides an alternative solution alongside sliding chassis, allowing operators to select equipment based on the type of container movements being undertaken.

For A Plessas Transport, the latest additions strengthen its ability to manage a wide variety of container transport requirements while continuing to develop its fleet capacity.

“Having reliable equipment is important because our customers depend on us to keep their supply chains moving,” concludes Andreas. “As we continue to grow, we need equipment and suppliers that can support that growth, and our experience with KRONE has been very positive.”

The continued investment represents a further step in the relationship between A Plessas Transport and Krone UK, with additional FS10 chassis already planned as the company continues to expand its container transport operation.
