Asset Alliance Group keeps Yuill & Dodds moving with range-topping DAF XGs

14 May 20252 min read
Wrapped in the road transport firm’s distinctive blue and red-striped livery, the 6×2 trucks with mid-lift axles are fitted with driver comfort packs and feature power take-off outlets for use with walking floor trailers.

Yuill & Dodds has been an Asset Alliance Group customer for more than a decade and Managing Director Brian Yuill likened the relationship between the businesses to that of a partnership.

“Not only do they deliver a good service, but they are flexible in their provision. With many vehicle providers it’s cut and dry, ‘here’s what you’re getting’ but Asset Alliance Group take the time to tailor the product to suit your operation, and that’s why we keep returning to them,” he says.

The latest additions join an operation of close to 100 commercial vehicles and replace older DAF XFs as part of the haulier’s commitment to running a young fleet, with a target age of no more than four years for its tippers and tractor units.

It comes after Asset Alliance Group supplied six tri-axle Titan walking floor trailers, on operating leases, into the business last November. Five DAF XF 530s and a Dennison extendable low-loader trailer also arrived last autumn via the asset finance specialist.

Not only is Asset Alliance Group flexible with the specifications of the vehicles it supplies, but its approach to used sales is similarly accommodating, according to Yuill.

“We sometimes buy our trailers outright after the lease period has come to an end, and it’s a drama- free process with Asset Alliance Group. That isn’t always the case with other suppliers,” he adds.

This latest deal was handled by Business Development Manager, Dougie Bennett.

Established in 1952, Yuill & Dodds, which has a vehicle workshop on site, employs more than 100 people today and remains family owned. The Lanarkshire transport business specialises in haulage, material removal and supply, waste disposal, tipping facilities and tipper hire.
