The brand has been selected by Expresso Nordeste, a reference company in the country’s transport sector headquartered in Campo Mourão (Paraná), for the renewal of its fleet. The company has acquired 30 units of the IVECO BUS 17-280 Euro VI chassis, bodied by Mascarello, which will be used in charter operations.

Founded in 1963, Expresso Nordeste connects the states of Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Goiás and the Federal District, as well as operating an international route to Paraguay.

Now available with the FPT Industrial N67 engine compliant with the Euro VI emissions standard, the IVECO BUS 17-280 chassis is more efficient and reliable than ever, combining the highest power in the segment with fuel economy and lower emissions. Produced at the Industrial Complex of Sete Lagoas (Minas Gerais), the IVECO BUS chassis has been designed to ensure low operating costs and is recognized for this by customers.

The N67 engine features Common Rail electronic injection and Euro VI requirements with the Hi-eSCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) after-treatment technology patented by FPT Industrial. The 17-280 chassis introduces the concept of downspeeding, where the bus engine operates at low revs with high torque. The engine delivers 280 horsepower at 2,500 rpm with torque of 950 Nm, in the range of 1,250 rpm to 1,970 rpm The chassis is equipped with a ZF six-speed transmission.

The IVECO Turim Diesel dealership from Maringá (Paraná) has been the direct contact for this contract. This confirms the importance of IVECO BUS’ partnership with its network of dealerships, which play a crucial role being close to the customers.

"At IVECO BUS we believe in being close to our customers, with an in-depth understanding of their needs and applications, and anticipating their future needs," says Danilo Fetzner, director of IVECO BUS for Latin America "We are proud of the delivery to Expresso Nordeste and hope this is the beginning of a long-standing partnership."
