Cascade Drives’ steering system will be showcased with ASIL-D qualified electronics and controls from a renowned Tier 1 within commercial vehicle steering systems.
Cascade Drives’ TruEPS™ is a new steering system built around Cascade’s powerful electro-mechanical actuators. Designed to replace hydraulic servo systems the technology is a smart and efficient way to perform single-axle and multi-axle steering in electric commercial vehicles, especially class 6 vehicles and beyond.
The major advantage of Cascade Drive's solution for heavy-duty vehicles is that it replaces conventional hydraulic power steering with a powerful and robust electromechanical system. The steering system is compact, efficient, fast, and accurate. Unlike other EPS solutions, it doesn’t suffer from degradation due to wear from shock-loading.
At IAA in Hannover Cascade Drives will showcase both front- and rear steering solutions in full by wire mode. Both solutions are feasible for class 6-10 trucks and capable for level 4 use cases. Cascade Drives’ front steering solution will be showcased on an independent front suspension axle from Italian BRIST. Cascade Drives steering solutions offers a flexible installation layout to accommodate both drag link replacement and centre mounted.
Cascade Drive's solution will also be featured as part of a well-known Tier 1 supplier's demonstration of a solution for commercial vehicle e-axle systems.
“It’s truly commendable that a Tier 1 player has chosen to showcase a solution with our electric power steering incorporated into the project. That does not only reduce environmental footprint but also enhances efficiency and steering precision,” said Kristian Floresjö, CEO at Cascade Drives.
IAA Transportation 2024 is the leading international platform for logistics and transport and the most important global forum for the most important topics of the future in the industry. Cascade Drives’ TruEPS™ will be showcased in booth A01 in Hall 12 during the show in Hannover from September 17th to September 22nd.
A press briefing will be held on September 16, during the press day, at 13.00 at booth A01. Media and other interested are welcome to Cascade Drives’ booth throughout the show.
