Last weekend, Tevva participated in the DACHSER EV Open Day alongside Fin Sustainable Logistics, Renault Trucks UK, Volvo Trucks UK and Zenobi – another successful initiative from DACHSER to bring zero-emission technologies and the future of sustainable deliveries in inner cities to their customers.
As a B2B logistics solutions provider, DACHSER are the enablers behind the smooth running of many automotive, fashion and chemical logistics, alongside day-to-day general haulage. They are the intel inside many of their customers' operations. Headquartered in Germany and with a presence in 42 countries, the group remains family-owned driven by six core values making it a highly customer-centric organisation with a strong sustainability DNA.
The group is clearly committed to consistently moving towards more sustainable and climate-friendly logistics. In a recent article, DACHSER CEO Burkhard Eling talks about tackling their own emissions first and reducing them as fast as possible, while also collaborating with customers, service partners carriers, and the entire ecosystem in the logistics industry.
DACHSER has developed a way to deploy battery-electric trucks and vans in combination with electrically assisted cargo bikes and StreetScooters so that delivery in defined inner-city areas is completely emission-free. This concept is trademarked DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery has been rolled out in thirteen European cities so far with eleven more planned by 2025.
Additionally, by sourcing and charging with green power only, they hope to cut operational greenhouse gas emissions to zero, whilst reducing truck congestion.
