The company, which is going from strength to strength after announcing a new ambitious five-year growth strategy, has been operating for 36 years. It has built up an impressive reputation of operating with good business ethics and robust processes, while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability.

Jet has taken delivery of a new Wirtgen W100Fi road planer, with two further new Wirtgen machines joining the fleet in the coming months. The new, advanced model delivers a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the previous model. It’s supported by a performance tracker, allowing transparency and efficiency for customers on every job.

In addition to this, Jet is expanding its industry-leading fleet with five new Volvo Tridem trucks. The vehicles have eight wheels, but offer the same manoeuvrability of six-wheel tippers and give a significantly increased payload. They’re also better for the environment, reducing CO2 emissions and causing less congestion than alternative options. The new trucks follow the success of the eleven tridems that Jet already operates.

John Lee, Operations Director at Jet Plant Hire, said: “We’re proud of the reputation we’ve built for setting the standard for sustainable road planing through innovation over the past 36 years. Updating our equipment to ensure that we’re as efficient and sustainable as possible is a key part of that success.

“I’m confident that our new Wirtgen planers and Tridem vehicles will enable us to continue providing the best service and value for our customers.”

It’s been a particularly successful year for Jet, with significant industry recognition at the Motor Transport Awards, Highways Awards, Employee Benefits Awards and Sustainability Awards. The company was also placed on the Sunday Times Best Places To Work list.
