Kässbohrer Enhances Skibitrans’ Intermodal Operations with 20 units of Europe’s Lightest 40&45 ft Container Chassis

19 March 20252 min read
Based in Kutno, Poland, Skibitrans is a family-owned logistics company renowned for its intermodal transport expertise. Operating across Europe, Skibitrans delivers reliable and sustainable solutions, leveraging its advanced fleet and network capabilities to meet the evolving demands of the logistics sector.

The collection of the new Kässbohrer container chassis was conducted using an electric truck, demonstrating Skibitrans' commitment to sustainability. Additionally, some of these trailers are already in use with a 100% electric Volvo truck for operations carried out in partnership with Loconi Intermodal S.A.

The delivery ceremony was attended by Sławomir Skibiński  and Bartłomiej Sitek co-owners of Skibitrans and Kamil Łukaszuk  Kässbohrer Polska Malopolskie, Podkarpackie Area Sales manager.

During the event Sławomir Skibiński, Co-owner of Skibitrans, shared his satisfaction: "At Skibitrans, we prioritize reliability and sustainability in our operations. Kässbohrer’s light container chassis are ideal for our needs offering the top payload and innovative lock changing mechanism for ease of use in both 40ft and 45ft container transport. The vehicles increase our operational efficiency, allowing us to continue delivering exceptional service across Europe as the case for two major intermodal projects we will carry out with these recently delivered vehicles: one between Austria and Poland, operated by the Austrian company Wenzel, and the second between Parma and Poland, managed by the Italian company Futuracargo Intermodal. We are confident our partnership with Kässbohrer will continue in the future.

Kamil Łukaszuk  from Kässbohrer Polska stated: We thank Skibitrans for their trust in Kässbohrer. With Enginuity we constantly develop our vehicles to take our customers operations to the next level. Kässbohrer light Octagon-on container chassis delivered to Skibtrans are the lightest 40 and 45 ft container chassis in Europe 3.960 kg tare weight and least fuel consumption. The vehicles feature the award-winning patented octagonal central frame, recognized in the Trailer Innovation Award category "Chassis’’ which yields a more robust contruction and better safer more efficient load distribution. The ingenious design   from our 2024 launch Octagon-on container chassis series. The innovative design simplifies operations with four container locks and eliminates the need for an extendable gooseneck, streamlining loading and 40ft to 45ft switching processes for enhanced productivity. Kässbohrer continues to strengthen its strong and reliable partnership with Skibitrans. We thank Skibitrans for their trust in Kässbohrer and we believe we will continue to be their solid partner in the future.
