Out at work with Fosseway Tool Hire LtdThe company was recently tasked with lifting and transporting a series of iconic sculptures into place at Compton Verney art gallery. Originally made for and installed on the facade of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2022-23, ‘Gilt’ by internationally acclaimed artist Hew Locke has now been installed on the portico and this eye-catching series will be on display for the next 2 years as part of their Sculpture in the Park exhibition.
The team used their FASSI F485A2.25 xe-dynamic crane with Scanreco remote control to carefully lift and position the sculptures into place. From the heavy-duty range of cranes, a 48tm class of crane is the ideal piece of equipment for this type of work as (along with the skills of the FASSI operator of course) it delivers the perfect combination of lift and manoeuvrability.
