Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide named Irish Electric Truck of the Year 2025 - Medium Duty at Fleet Transport Irish Green Commercial Awards 2025

17 December 20242 min read
Claiming the award in the Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) category, the 18 tonne Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide 4x2 rigid was praised by the judges for its exceptional practicality.

The judges highlighted the truck's flexibility for urban logistics, with opportunities for battery regeneration and stress-free driving.

Also commended was the truck’s familiar design, with judges noting that the BEV powertrain is based on the Renault Trucks D version, retaining the look, cab accessibility, and operational features such as driving position, location of switch gear and visibility of its ICE counterpart.

Positive feedback from owners and operators further underscored its industry impact. The panel also appreciated its smooth driving experience – and particularly relished the challenge set to optimise range distance.

The Green Commercial Awards 2025 winners were unveiled during a Gala Banquet at the Johnstown Estate Hotel, Enfield, County Meath, on Thursday, October 10. The evening was hosted by joint compères Shay Byrne and Síle Seoige, with awards presented by Hugh Hall, Company Director of ePower and the event's Title Sponsor.

On being presented with the award, Harry Nash, Managing Director, Setanta Vehicle Importers Ltd, Renault Trucks’ main dealer in Ireland, said: “Setanta and Renault Trucks are thrilled to be awarded the Fleet Transport Irish Green Commercial award for the Renault Trucks E-Tech D Wide. Renault Trucks continues to lead the way in decarbonising transport, with real world solutions that are available now, in operation today, working for a greener tomorrow.”
