Scania UK's apprentices deservedly Earned their WIIINGS
On 26 November 2025, 107 apprentices took to the home of Red Bull Racing to celebrate passing their apprenticeships and graduating together in front of their peers and managers – as they deservedly basked in the applause.

After three years of hard work both in the classroom and within Scania UK's network, the Apprentice Class of 2025 are now set spread their wiiings and embark on the next chapter of their careers.
The lavish ceremony was the perfect opportunity to reflect on their individual and team successes and achievements, and to highlight how useful their new skills will be for their futures.
Jaime Chahal, People and Culture Director at Scania UK said: “Tonight is the moment we can acknowledge and celebrate all the hard work our latest cohort of apprentices have put in throughout the last three years.
“This year has seen our highest pass rate, with most achieving a distinction in their assessments, which highlights the calibre of young people Scania UK is fortunate enough to have working in its business currently.
“Graduating is a fantastic achievement, and I, for one, am very excited to see where their journeys take them.”
Going for gold in the Apprentice of the Year Competition
Concluding the ceremony was the official announcement of the 2025 Apprentice of the Year competition winners.
Just like last year, there was four prizes up for grabs – with glory and £1000 prize awaiting the winners.
First up was discovering the winners of the Heavy Vehicle Technician and Customer Advisor competitions.
The day before the ceremony, 10 finalists from across the UK, five for each category, unleashed the bull in a set of challenges that pushed all their training, skills and ability to stay calm under pressure, to the limit.
After facing 24 hours of intense competition under the scrutiny of numerous judges watching their every move, it was time to announce the winners in front of a tense audience.
In the Heavy Vehicle Technician competition, Keltruck Scania Hereford's Ben Powell claimed first prize. While Keltruck Cardiff's Analise Holland took top honours in the Customer Advisor competition.

Speaking about the competition, Alex Howe, Head of People Development for Scania UK, said: “The standard of this year's Apprentice of the Year competition was extremely high, and each finalist deserved to go home a winner.
“It's really pleasing to see such a high calibre of apprentice competing in this competition and coming through our apprenticeship programme. Not only does it mean we have some very skilful young people coming into our industry, but they will also hopefully take Scania to another level.”
Michael Keogh from TruckEast Felixstowe was named Apprentice Buddy of the Year, as he was recognised for his nurturing and supportive style when working with apprentices in the workshop.
Wrapping up the evening was a special award. The Hugh Moore Award. It recognises an individual who embodies Scania UK's values and has achieved academic excellence throughout their apprenticeship.
Having been an apprentice and a former Apprentice of the Year winner, Hugh Moore was acknowledged as one of Scania UK's best technicians during his time on the tools.
As a role model for all apprentices, Hugh made his way up the career ladder to become Aftersales Director for Scotland. And along that journey, he has been instrumental in mentoring and guiding others to fill their potential.
Unfortunately, Hugh sadly passed away a number of years ago, but his legacy lives on at Scania UK through his son Craig.
He has followed in his father's footsteps and started his career as a Scania apprentice. Although their careers have taken different routes, Craig is seen as one of Scania's best technicians globally.
This year, Peter Baker from Scania Maidstone joins last year's winner Joseph Dudley as only the second winner of this prestigious accolade.
Congratulations to all of Scania UK's Class of 2025 graduating apprentices and winners of the Apprentice of the Year awards.
