The delivery took place at Kässbohrer’s Goch facility, with the participation of Ewals representatives including GM of Fleet Control Peter Bouten, Account Manager Patrick Van Alphen and Technical Fleet Engineer Thibaut Verkoulen, as well as  Mehmet Onen, Kässbohrer’s Head of Key Account Management  and Willy Van Der Velden Kässbohrer Quality Manager, marking another milestone in the longstanding cooperation between the two companies.

Ewals Cargo Care, headquartered in Tegelen, the Netherlands, is a key player in European intermodal logistics with 80% of its over 3000 loads per day transferred intermodally by rail and short sea routes. Operating out of 29 locations in 14 countries, Ewals Cargo Care offers services not only in part and full load transport but at the same time expertise in optimisation and overseeing of their clients’ logistics operations increasing transport efficiency and sustainability of their supply chain.

Mr. Peter Bouten, GM of Fleet Control at Ewals, shared his thoughts on the delivery: “We continue to invest in vehicles that bring measurable operational efficiency. We have been working with Kässbohrer since 2019 and have seen the efficiency gains. Accommodating operational ease in tyre transport, regular reliability in rail and ferry operations, ease of maintenance and above all good communication; Kässbohrer is a solid partner.

Commenting on the delivery, Mehmet Önen, Head of Key Account Management at Kässbohrer, stated: “We are proud to support Ewals Cargo Care in optimizing their intermodal fleet. As a result of our engineering competence and continuous R&D investments, Kässbohrer offers the most efficient and long-lasting trailers for demanding logistics operations. Engineered for both performance and resilience, the huckepack mega curtainsiders K.SCS M’s technical features directly contribute to load safety, fleet efficiency, and environmental responsibility. We thank Ewals for their continued trust and look forward to our growing cooperation.”

The newly delivered Kässbohrer huckepack mega curtaisider K. SCS M vehicles are designed to meet the demanding just-in-time deliveries and complex intermodal transport operational requirements of Ewals. The robust high quality steel chassis with KTL protection ensures durability under all road conditions, while train loading brackets suitable for P400 e-f-g-i wagon types make the vehicle fully intermodal. Also enhanced for ferry transportation, it features a reinforced gooseneck and galvanized bumper protection components to provide added protection during ferry loading operations.

The vehicle’s patented K-Fix load securing system—with 236 lashing points, each offering 2.5-ton capacity—enhance load flexibility and security. In addition, K.SCS M complies with EN 12642 Code XL – VDI 2700 standards for load security across all roof lifting positions, making it ideal for transporting a wide range of goods, including tire shipments.

This delivery highlights Kässbohrer’s commitment to engineering excellence and customer-focused innovation.
