Thermo King Launches TX-Series: New High Performance and Fuel Efficient Truck Units
Thermo King®, a leader in transport temperature control solutions and a brand of Trane Technologies, has introduced the TX-Series, a new range of refrigeration units for small and large trucks. Designed for both single- and multi-temperature applications, the TX-Series offers balanced system efficiency, fuel consumption and performance for both fresh and frozen applications. The TX-Series replaces Thermo King’s T-Series models and has been field tested to perform in in all ambient temperatures, including the harshest of conditions, from low ambient up to 55°C.

Designed to meet the practical needs of today’s fleet operators, Thermo King’s TX-Series offers easy and hassle-free operation thanks to intuitive in-cab controllers. Connectivity and monitoring tools help the operators keep the unit deliver optimum performance with maximum efficiency. The Whisper option significantly reduces noise levels for quiet operation in sensitive residential delivery areas, while the Whisper™ Pro models are PIEK certified under the most stringent noise testing conditions.

“The new TX-Series represents the next generation of self-powered refrigeration units and focuses on performance, reliability and ease of use and service combined with increased fuel efficiency,” said Davide Previsdomini, Product Manager SP Truck at Thermo King Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). “The TX-Series is a portfolio that delivers results in the real world, whether you’re operating in city centres or harsh cold and hot climates. Developed based on “must have” criteria from our customers, the units can handle demanding conditions, operate quietly, be easy to work with and help our customers deliver, all with lower lifecycle costs.”

Key Features and Benefits of the TX-Series:

  • Enhanced Performance: Single, two or three-zone temperature control feature re-engineered components to optimise airflow, while up to 17% higher cooling capacity provides proven performance from up to 55°C to extreme low ambients.
  • Reduced Environmental Impact: The TX-Series is up to 40 kg lighter than its predecessor reducing the truck overall transport costs and emissions. New refrigerant coils and piping design allow to reduce the refrigerant charge and therefore global warming potential (GWP) by up to 21%.
  • Optimised Fuel Efficiency: The TX Series offers improved fuel efficiency by up to 7% compared to the T-Series.
  • Biofuel compatibility: All TX-Series models are compatible with HVO biodiesel as standard, and an option is available for use of B100 biofuel (EN-14214) with no impact to the unit’s service interval. Running the refrigeration units with biofuels is an efficient way to reduce fleet emissions thanks to carbon & particulate emissions reduction up to 90% and 78% respectively.
  • Lower Life Cycle Costs and Ease of Use: Extended maintenance interval (EMI) of 2,000 hours cuts downtime and service expense. Scheduled maintenance reminders can be pre-programmed while ServiceWatch™ records system operation for reduced diagnostic time. Thermo King BlueBox telematics also allows to have full visibility over the unit operation and to get direct notifications via apps and email.

The new Thermo King TX-Series is now available across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Full-coverage two-year warranty is complemented by full service and support options available from Thermo King’s network of over 500 service locations across 75 countries in the EMEA region.
