To help further its sustainability goals, Trotters (Childrenswear & Accessories) Limited, whose clothing is worn by young Royals across Europe, has selected the Renault Trucks E-Tech Master L3H1 Platform Cab for its first fully electric delivery vehicle. Already running two electric company cars, the E-Tech Master is Trotters Childrenswear’s first electric van and the company’s first from Renault Trucks, with the new vehicle delivering stock to the company’s stores and partners, including Harrods and Liberty, across London. Supplied by Renault Truck Commercials, Chiltern, the new E-Tech Master will average 20-30 miles per day and work within close proximity to Trotters Childrenswear’s fulfilment centre where the vehicle will also be charged.

Natasha Lunney, Chief Operating Officer at Trotters (Childrenswear & Accessories) Limited, explains why they opted for the E-Tech Master for their first electric vehicle: “We selected Renault Trucks because it’s a well-trusted brand and has a reputation for reliability, and because they had the size and style of van we were looking for to deliver our stock.”

Providing a payload of up to 1.2T, the new Renault Trucks E-Tech Master with Truckcraft low loader box body offers a loading height of just 500mm which allows for a greater body capacity and an impressive load volume of up to 19 cubic metres.  This has enabled Trotters Childrenswear to reduce its delivery fleet size down from two vehicles to one. Natasha notes: “The new vehicle is bigger and more efficiently laid-out than the previous competitor model, so we have been able to downsize our vehicles to just one. Given the size of the new van, we don’t envisage needing another.”

The Renault Trucks E-Tech Master Platform Cab chassis with a R75 electric motor and a 52kWh battery has a real-life range of up to 120 miles* on a single charge and, with zero-emissions and zero-noise pollution, can operate without restriction in highly regulated areas including London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone.

Building a sustainable business is at the core of Trotters Childrenswear’s values, and the switch to electric is an important part of the business’ ambition to become an even greener business as Natasha explains. “We are aware that our world’s resources are not finite and we feel that, as a children’s wear brand, we have a duty to protect the planet for future generations. We are continuously looking at how we can be kinder to our planet, and replacing our old polluting vans for an electric one that is ULEZ compliant, is something that we have wanted to do for some time now and we are delighted that it has come to fruition.”
