Fully electric trucks and utility vehicles mark significant progress, enhancing both the working comfort of construction technicians and the quality of life for local residents. In October 2025, Renault Trucks Spain organised the E-Construction Days, offering a real-world demonstration of the full scope of its 100% electric transport solutions dedicated to the construction industry. The event also reinforced the importance of collective mobilisation among all partners – a crucial factor for a successful energy transition.
Electric mobility for trucks now extends to nearly all construction-related activities
Today, almost every trade within the construction industry can benefit from electromobility. Fully electric trucks and utility vehicles can now be configured for any body type and can handle virtually any task – from transporting aggregates to operating on the most complex urban construction sites.
Extending electric technology to the transport of concrete required the development of solutions that balance optimised payload capacity with battery weight. Renault Trucks and its bodywork partners have designed a chassis capable of carrying a fully electric concrete mixer. These trucks combine operational efficiency, economic performance and the essential goal of decarbonisation.
On construction sites, crane, tipper or concrete mixer operations require the engine to remain running. These tasks can now be carried out without CO₂ emissions or noise, benefiting operators working nearby. With no noise disturbance for nearby residents and no exhaust gases, electric vehicles are ideally suited to construction and building work, particularly in urban and peri-urban environments.
A diesel-powered truck used off-road stirs up soil and dust. In its electric version, there is no longer any need for a vertical exhaust pipe to mitigate this nuisance. Finally, electric vans and trucks meet the most stringent requirements of urban zones – regardless of local traffic restrictions.
Renault Trucks Spain organised the E-Construction Days last October. The aim of this first-ever 100% electric event for the construction sector was to demonstrate that building without local emissions is possible, without compromising the efficiency and productivity professionals expect.
To share their expertise in achieving a successful energy transition with construction professionals, Renault Trucks’ Spanish experts prepared four workshops, focusing on:
- charging infrastructure,
- usage and route simulation,
- presentation and real-life testing of five Renault Trucks E-Tech vehicles: three Renault Trucks E-Tech C, including an 8x4 Tridem concrete mixer, the Renault Trucks E-Tech T, and the Renault Trucks E-Tech Master,
- total cost of ownership (TCO)..
Several representatives from an ecosystem of partners – key players in ensuring a successful transition to electromobility – took part in the E-Construction Days.
- Frumecar presented its electric concrete mixer fitted on the Renault Trucks E-Tech 8x4 Tridem;
- Full&Fast powered the entire event setup through its photovoltaic and battery storage solution, making the E-Construction Days a zero local-emission event from start to finish.
- Nomad Solar Energy showcased its “plug & play” mobile solar production unit designed to make any installation self-sufficient.
- MAT, a major player in the transport of construction materials.

The E-Construction Days brought together over 180 participants at the Áridos Salitral quarry in Aranjuez, near Madrid. Renault Trucks reaffirmed the leadership it established more than 15 years ago with the launch of its first electric vehicles. Today, the brand offers a complete range of 100% electric transport solutions tailored to virtually all operations within the construction industry. The event also served to highlight the human commitment of a company that supports its customers throughout every stage of the energy transition process – from needs assessment and route planning to charging infrastructure installation and team training.
