About this event

An exclusive event hosted by Energy Saving Trust in partnership with Scottish Futures Trust (SFT), designed to connect local authorities (LAs), charge point operators (CPOs), and other Scottish charging infrastructure stakeholders. This event supports Transport Scotland’s Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Fund (EVIF), a key pillar in the Scottish Government’s vision for an expansive public EV charging network.

About EVIF

Transport Scotland is allocating up to £30 million in grant funding for local authorities through EVIF, with the aim of matching this with private sector investment to drive the programme forward. This initiative will help build the skills and supply chains essential for Scotland’s transition from approximately 6,000 public charge points today to over 30,000 by 2030.

Event highlights

  • Keynote address: Hear from the Cabinet Secretary for Transport on strategies for fostering private investment in EVIF projects.
  • CPO insights: Gain valuable perspectives from CPOs on the critical success factors for expanding EV charging infrastructure.
  • Support for local authorities: Learn about the comprehensive support package from SFT, including key details of their template concession contract.
  • Networking opportunities: Connect with CPOs, LAs, legal professionals, and other public sector representatives.

For local authorities:

  • Knowledge exchange: Benefit from direct engagement with CPOs to draw on their expertise as you develop tender and contract documents.
  • Collaborative insight: Bring your procurement and legal teams, as well as external consultants, to gain a deeper understanding of the financial and legal aspects of managing partnerships.
  • Showcase your progress: Present your ongoing efforts and strategic approach to expanding EV charging. Limited speaking slots are available, so indicate your interest when registering.

For CPOs:

  • Leadership opportunity: Share your vision on how to scale public EV charging infrastructure in Scotland and participate in a round table discussion with the Cabinet Secretary for Transport.
  • Speaking engagements: Present your thoughts on best practices for attracting private investment. Register your interest for a speaking slot early, as spaces are limited.
  • Market awareness: Learn about the strategies and expansion plans from all 32 Scottish LAs, many of whom have secured EVIF funding.
