As an ATF Lane Assistant/Yard person at Motus Commercials in Nottingham we will be looking for you to be able to demonstrate:

Experience HGV Class 1 Essential
Minimum 1 years’ experience
Display a high level of customer service
IT Literacy
Brilliant levels of communication written or verbal
Forklift licence Desirable
Experience of working in a workshop desirable
Enthusiastic, Team Player, Flexible.

Main duties will be:

To assist with Motus Commercials vehicle MOT’s and day to day running of ATF lane and yard maintenance. To minimise MOT risk for business in relation to MOT Pass Rates and protection of customers OCRS scores by working with Workshop Control and other influencing Colleagues to reduce risk/exposure.

To work with Workshop Control to ensure vehicle readiness for presentation for MOT, do not present a vehicle that hasn’t been confirmed is ready for MOT
Liaise with ATF lane/Reception staff to ensure smooth running of ATF lane and report on a daily basis any issues that have been raised
To check all vehicles prior to presenting for MOT the following items, Lighting all functioning and correct, walk around check to ensure reflective markings clean, Spray Suppression clean and vehicle is suitable for MOT Test
Free time between MOT tests and start of shift to ensure vehicle accessibility and yard clear of obstruction
Loading and offloading of vehicles for MOT test
Ensure ATF lane is clean and suitable for DVSA staff to carry out their duty
Ensure ATF/Reception staff have been made aware of MOT failures and PRS results on a daily basis
To complete daily run sheet and hand in prior to leaving site/depot
Do not share information in relation to our working practices/MOT status/MOT tests and customer details with any other patron/customer using our ATF lane/facility in line with GDPR
Ensure all tooling you need to carry out your duties is fit for purpose and forklift has required daily check completed and fuel for the time it will be in use is sufficient.
Observe the requirements of all Heath and Safety Legislation and work in a safe responsible manner under duty of care to self and other colleagues. Monitor your team’s work area and keep them clean & tidy and return all tools to the correct storage place. Draw any shortcomings to the attention of the technician concerned failing improvement to the Workshop Controller.
Ensures all customers’ vehicles are represented back in a clean state free from any grease or oil in the cab and use of protective seat covers where necessary.
Ensure team place vehicle keys in the key cabinet after each job is done and against the appropriate hook in the key cabinet in-line with booking planner.
Carry out any other task as required by the manager and ensure any breaches in procedure or policy are prevented from impacting on internal and external customers.

About the Company

Motus Commercials is an approved DAF Truck dealership located in Nottingham and is on the lookout for a dedicated and knowledgeable ATF Lane Assistant/Yard person. As our new ATF Lane Assistant/Yard Person, you will join our friendly team which will see you working 5 days a week 06.30am to 15.00pm which equates to 40 hours per week within our approved DAF dealership.
As a business Motus Commercials love to recognise and celebrate excellent performance. Due to company growth, we now need another ATF Lane Assistant/Yard Person who can pull together to meet the needs of our Commercial Vehicle customers both locally, regionally, and nationally with the minimum supervision for our joint ongoing success.
