HGV Class 1 Driver (Night Shift) / Workshop Assistant - Birtley
We currently have an exciting position as an HGV Class 1 Driver (Collection and Delivery) to work night shift in the fantastic team at our DAF Trucks dealership in Birtley. As an HGV Class 1 Driver, we can offer you:
We currently have an exciting position as an HGV Class 1 Driver (Collection and Delivery) to work night shift in the fantastic team at our DAF Trucks dealership in Birtley. As an HGV Class 1 Driver, we can offer you:
- Local work, no Tramping
- An hourly rate of up to £13.56 (depending on your Class 1 driving experience)
- Tuesday – Friday night shift working hours
- Excellent DAF Training & development opportunities – in house and manufacturer’s
- 22 days holiday (pro-rata, excluding statutory), rising to 25 days (pro-rata) after 5 years service

The HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- This is a duel role - Collection / delivery of vehicles from / to customers within Birtley and the surrounding area.
- Road testing of vehicles.
- Steam cleaning Trucks.
- Collection of parts from other depots.
- General Workshop duties when not driving.
Working Tuesday to Friday, 7pm – 7am.
Who are we looking for as our HGV Class 1 Driver / Workshop Assistant:

- You must hold a valid UK Class 1 licence (ideally clean).
- Be a customer focused individual with excellent communication skills.
- Any mechanical / workshop knowledge would be an advantage but not essential.
- PC Literate.
