About the role

Location: BelfastAnnual Salary: £41,614Closing Date: Friday 27th FebruaryTo carry out the safe and efficient inspection, service and repair of all vehicles, trailers and ancillary equipment in line with agreed schedules and operating procedures.There are plenty of reasons why this is a great place to work, and here are just a few of the benefits for you:33 days inclusive of 8 statutory daysOnsite parkingPension - matched employer pension contributions of up to 10% & Life AssuranceEmployee Assistance Programme a free and confidential support service for employees including counselling, financial guidance, relationship and legal adviceCycle to work schemeExtra Slice company discount scheme which provides great savings at more than 500 businesses/outlets, including Asda, Tesco, Currys & ArgosKey AccountabilitiesEnsuring repairs are carried out to meet or exceed the minimum standards as laid down by VOSA.Carry out duties in a manner consistent with established safety, environmental and maintenance procedures.Work with VMU shift Co-ordinator / FLM and Logistics team to ensure vehicle availability in accordance with delivery schedules.To achieve shift KPI’s by working in an efficient and effective manner.To comply with laid down safety procedures, highlighting any non-compliance issues to the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM.To ensure the effective use of resources available to carry out specific tasks or duties.To ensure that vehicles other fleet assets are maintained in accordance with Company and VOSA standards.Assist the VMU Co-ordinator / FLM to liaise with the Transport and Logistics departments about vehicle availability.To ensure that established sub-contractors are effectively utilised.To work flexibly in carrying out any other VMU duties, as required.The Right PersonEssentialGood interpersonal and communications skillsCity and Guilds/NVQ LGV/HGV Qualifications Level 3/4Good knowledge of diagnostic equipment (Daf & Iveco or similar)Good knowledge of vehicle electrical systemsGood knowledge with vehicle tail liftsStrong problem-solving skillsPrevious experience welding and fabricationFull clean driving licenseDesirablePrevious experience in HGV fleet maintenance operationsGood planning and organisational skillsIrtec trainedC + E liscense
