Step into a leadership role where energy, accountability and customer service come together — join Adams Morey in Portsmouth as our next Late Night Supervisor and help keep our operations running smoothly after hours.This leadership role drives productivity, clear communication, and collaboration while maintaining DAF Trucks’ operational, quality, and safety standards.As a supervisor, you will uphold our core values—connecting with respect, communicating with clarity, and delivering as a team—in every interaction, decision, and process and ensure the teams also live these values.Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.Working hours: Monday to Friday, 5:00pm to 1:30am, i.e. 40 hours per week, 30 minutes lunch (unpaid).Salary: £52,000 basis plus overtimeKey Responsibilities:As a supervisor to be a minimum of 60% productive.Ensure jobs are carried out with the required pre-authority of customers to prevent invoice queries at a later stageObtain prior authorisation for repair for vehicles in the workshop by accurately estimating jobs prior to commencement of work.Connect with customers respectfully acting as the liaison between customers and the workshop, communicating with customers regarding vehicle issues and repair timelines, addressing customer concerns with Service and Bodyshop Operations ManagerCarry out quality checks on completed worksEnsure that cash sales vehicles are not released without paymentAssist and work closely with the estimation and parts team as requiredOversee day-to-day workshop operations to ensure efficient job flow and productivity.Ensure site operates fully in line with DAF Trucks standards, processes, and compliance expectations.Maximize utilization of technicians, Workshop bays, tooling, and equipment.Deliver as a team by supporting Dayshift to balance workload, including sharing technicians, expertise, or capacity where required.Work closely with Workshop Controller to coordinate job allocation, scheduling, and workflow across shifts.Proactively manage workload to ensure seamless support and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.Identify opportunities for operational improvements and standardize best practices.Hold regular toolbox/communication meetings with the Late shift team, ensuring consistent messaging and engagement.Communicate with clarity, ensuring all team members understand priorities, expectations, and performance goals.Support team morale, discipline, and performance through regular coaching and constructive feedback.Ensure Workshop complies with DAF audit requirements, brand expectations, and dealer policies.Maintain a high standard of housekeeping, tool control, Health & Safety, and security.5s compliance for Workshop.Ideally, we are looking for:Previous experience within the motor industry is essential.Previous experience with truck repair and maintenance essential.Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.A professional and calm approach with strong customer service skills.Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to foresee potential barriers.Effective communicator.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Ability to plan ahead effectively and prioritise.Excellent attention to detail.Highly responsive but organised in approach.Good IT Skills.English and Maths Level 4.DAF master tech qualification.In return we’ll offer:Employee Assistance programMental Health First Aiders within the businessFree Flu jabs if you are ineligible through the NHSFree eye test plus £70 contribution towards glasses for display screen usersEmployee Discounts On A Range Of Products And Services Including Holidays, Days Out And Supermarket Shops30 days holiday including Bank Holidays rising by 1 day every 5 years capped at 33Free Independent mortgage advice servicePension SchemeSalary Sacrifice(if eligible)Staff EventsFree parkingCycle To Work SchemeCompetitive SalariesCareer development pathways and trainingQuarterly Star Awards Adams Morey is a part of the Greenhous Group which holds a position as one of the leading independent commercial enterprises in the UK.
