We are looking for a Wholesale Credit Underwriter to join our existing underwriting team, as part of the captive finance company for the Volvo Group (which includes trucks, buses and construction equipment). We are looking for someone who is a team player who is comfortable to sit with dealers and customer, as well as interacting with credit committees both in the UK and our region.
As a Senior Credit Analyst at Volvo Financial Services, you will be responsible for conducting an in-depth analysis of credit applications. Your objective is to provide well-informed, balanced, and commercially sound credit decisions based on comprehensive financial and company information. Working closely with the Credit Department, you will ensure that customer service levels are consistently met. You will have the autonomy to make credit decisions within approved credit guidelines, policies, and procedures, with the ability to present your findings to Credit Committees. Additionally, you will provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, contributing to their professional growth.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for underwriting wholesale credit applications for our dealers in the UK and Ireland. They will provide balanced, informed and reasoned commercial credit decisions based on relevant company and financial information.
- The role will cover all credit facilities that are offered to dealers, together with support to the retail credit team if needed.
- They must act with a high degree of independence working within approved credit guidelines, policies and procedures and be able to take decisions up to approved credit limits.
- The role will include presenting to credit committee and will include day to day transactions as well as credit line requests.
- Strong communication skills as the candidate will be required to communicate and negotiate directly Dealers and Customers
Key Responsibilities and Skills:
- Strong experience in credit underwriting particularly committee level requests, ideally with a background in wholesale / Stockplan funding.
- Excellent knowledge of financial services products
- Strong analytical skills including experience of analysing financials statements, reviewing cash flows and making appropriate decisions based upon that data
- Thorough with a high level of accuracy
