Service 24 hour Commercial Vehicle Technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Vehicle Technician to join our team in Worthing. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience in Commercial vehicle maintenance and repair. This role requires a commitment to delivering high-quality service while ensuring customer satisfaction. To provide S24 service and breakdown as required. To undertake all duties of a vehicle technician by carrying out inspections, repairs, maintenance and installation of components in accordance with the experience, training given and to the standards and quality of the Manufacturer.

Main Responsibilities:

Be responsible for and manage the breakdown caseload.
Understand and diagnose faulty components and recommend course of action.
Carry out inspection, maintenance, repair and installation of components in an efficient manner and per instructions given by Service Reception.
Ensure that standard times and quality of work is to the manufacturer’s standards.
Ensure that all work carried and time taken is well documented on the job card to ensure accurate billing to customer.
Ensure that additional work is reported to Service Reception and authority is obtained before work is commenced.
Ensure that additional work, which cannot be carried out, is communicated to Service Reception for future booking.
Ensure that the correct components are requested from the Parts Department and in sufficient time for the job to be carried out.
Road test vehicles when required and ensure work has been fully completed and will pass quality assurance checks.
Ensure that vehicles are returned to customers in a clean condition and there is no body damage.
Support Service Advisors as necessary with technical expertise in explaining to customer work carried out on his vehicle.
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in proper working order. Report faulty equipment and remove from workshop.
Maintain a well organised service 24-hour vehicle, for ease and use for other workshop staff if required.
Meet the requirements and targets set by the manufacturer in regard to Service 24h breakdown cover and the Service 24h policy.
Ensure at all times that within your area of responsibility Company procedures and standards are maintained and that all statutory requirements including fire and health and safety are adhered to, including wearing the correct PPE at all times.

About You

You must have a Full clean driving licence
Ability to work independently in high pressure situations
Trained at Truck Systems or Diagnostic Level
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as customer service skills.

Hours: 45 hour per week, Monday to Friday 07:00am to 04:30pm with a 30-minute unpaid break per day plus 1-in-4 weekends on call

Salary: Starting basic £42,962.40 DOE p.a., OTE including callouts £70,000p.a.
