Job Description
Workshop Controller
Mercedes-Benz Truck & Van Mallusk, have an opportunity for an experienced Workshop Controller.
Key purpose of the role:
As a Workshop Controller, you are responsible for planning, controlling and delivering overall workshop performance. You will work alongside the Service Manager, to oversee the running of a busy workshop maintaining productivities, efficiencies and quality of work.
This is a critical role within the aftersales operation.
Main duties will include:
- Managing and coaching a team of Commercial Vehicle Technicians (CVTs) and Apprentice CVTs
- Ensuring all service work is carried out correctly, competently and within manufacturer timings
- Assisting CVTs with technical challenges and helping them to come to the right outcome
- Liaising with Service and Parts Advisors to update on customer matters
- Participating in aftersales meetings
- Determine training requirements for your team, in line with manufacturer standards

Essential skills and experience:
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- Relevant experience in the automotive industry and sound knowledge of workshop working practices
- Excellent leadership and proven people management skills
- Ability to work to in a fast-paced environment with changing demands
- Technical knowledge gained through technical qualification or relevant experience
- Knowledge of HGV/LCV inspection standards & road legal requirements/documentation
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks in a systematic manner
- The ability to communicate well with customers and colleagues across other departments
- Proficiency in IT; all aspects of MS Office and a Dealer Management System preferably Kerridge
