Carrier Transicold is a part of Carrier Global Corporation (NYSE: CARR), global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions.

The seven new Pulsor 400 MT systems are deployed across two 3.5-tonne Renault Master and five Maxus Deliver 9 chassis cabs, all fitted with Coolfreeze box bodies, and form part of Adams Foodservice’s 29-strong commercial fleet. The units support regular multi-drop delivery routes across South East England, handling ambient, chilled and frozen goods across up to 24 deliveries per day.

“We needed a refrigeration system that could maintain consistent temperatures across our intensive multi-drop delivery routes without depending on higher engine speeds,” said Kelseigh Harrison-Smith, group wholesale manager, Adams Foodservice. “During a trial with Carrier Transicold last year, we quickly saw the Pulsor was well suited to our operations, delivering strong fuel efficiency and consistent performance, even with frequent door openings. Equally important has been their responsive support, clear communication and deep understanding of our requirements.”

The Pulsor 400 MT maintains full refrigeration capacity at engine speeds as low as 1,000 rpm, a key requirement for vehicles operating on intensive multi‑drop delivery route. It uses Carrier Transicold’s patented E-Drive™ technology, which converts the vehicle’s engine power into electricity to operate the refrigeration unit.

Another operational benefit of the Pulsor unit is its ‘key out’ function, which allows the driver to leave the vehicle parked securely whilst making deliveries, without cutting power to the refrigeration system.

“It has been a pleasure building this new relationship with the team at Adams Foodservice, demonstrating how Carrier Transicold’s technology can support the demanding requirements of its business,” said Elliot Quinn, Key Account Manager, Carrier Transicold UK. “We’re confident that the latest additions to its fleet are designed to help support consistent cooling performance and operational reliability across intensive delivery routes.”

Established in 1999, family-run Adams Foodservice began as a small greengrocer in Shoreham before expanding into its current location in Worthing in 2015. The new vehicles will operate six days a week, covering approximately 100 miles per day and delivering to customers including restaurants, pubs, bars, nurseries and schools across Sussex, Surrey and Kent.
