This Scania has been a true labour of love, with Struan Gillie and his father putting in serious hours to make it their own. Since bringing it home in November 2023, they’ve poured time, effort and passion into transforming their beloved truck.
Working on her bit by bit, taking care of many of the modifications themselves, and enlisting the help of trusted local specialists to add the finishing touches. A jaw-dropping R 620 fitted with custom catwalks, a side pipe, new wheels, interior upgrades, a stunning paint job, and a standout back bumper, making it truly one of a kind. Every detail has been carefully considered to make it feel like home, and it shows.
After months of hard graft and dedication, the truck made its debut last July. Heading out on its first run and kicking off a busy season of appearances at top truck shows across Ireland and mainland Europe, including Drifter-Style and Assen in Holland, their custom R 620 wowed audiences wherever it went.
It’s more than just a looker… Underneath all that polish, their Scania R 620 delivers a smooth drive, thanks to the 3-pedal Opticruise system, and provides an unbeatable soundtrack when the pipes open.
It’s clear that for the Gillies, this isn’t just a truck. It’s a point of pride, a family project, and a rolling showcase of what hard work, vision and a whole lot of passion can create.
