Katem Logistics new ‘Life is Precious’ campaign trailer
Katem Logistics takes road safety message nationwide with new ‘Life is Precious’ campaign trailer
A road safety campaign highlighting the fatal consequences of the ‘Fatal Four’ driving offences will be visible across the UK, thanks to Katem Logistics.
The Durham-based haulage firm has unveiled a powerful new trailer supporting Durham Constabulary’s ‘Life is Precious’ campaign, aimed at raising national awareness of the Fatal Four: speeding, drink and drug driving, using a mobile phone at the wheel, and not wearing a seatbelt.
The campaign was launched by Mari Johnson, whose parents, Elaine Sullivan and David Daglish, were tragically killed in 2021 when a distracted HGV driver using his mobile phone collided with their vehicle on the A1. Determined to prevent similar tragedies, Mari has worked closely with police and community leaders to raise awareness of the dangers these behaviours pose.
Katem Logistics’ new SDC Curtainsider, featuring the ‘Life is Precious’ message, will act as a mobile billboard, travelling across the UK to help change driver behaviour and encourage safer roads.
Matthew Chaganis, Deputy Managing Director at Katem Logistics, said: “We’re incredibly proud to support this campaign. Safety is central to our transport operations, and we’re committed to delivering a message that could save lives. This trailer will be seen on roads across the UK as part of our national fleet, sending a powerful reminder to all road users about the importance of safe driving habits.”
The campaign trailer is one of 10 new SDC Curtainsiders recently supplied to Katem Logistics. Built to ENXL quality certification, the trailers feature a range of safety technologies, including Safe Park braking system, EBPMS telematics, TPMS and AirSave tyre inflation technology, sideguard infills, curtain webbing, and high-spec LED lighting.
Mark Hudspeth, Sales Manager at SDC Trailers, said: “This is a powerful example of how the transport industry can lead with both purpose and responsibility. We’re proud to have supported Katem Logistics on this special campaign trailer and commend them for using their platform to promote safer roads.
The new ENXL trailers will be a great addition to the operator’s high-performing fleet.”
The trailer investment reflects a longstanding relationship between Katem Logistics and SDC, who have supported the operator with over 40 new trailers since their first order 12 years ago.
A huge well done to the Katem Logistics team from everyone at SDC Trailers, it’s a privilege to support such a meaningful initiative.
