Maximum Protection, Lasting Shine: Maxion Wheels Introduces C-GUARD

With the launch of its new range of forged aluminum truck wheels, Maxion Wheels is introducing a high-performance ceramic surface treatment that raises the bar for wheel protection: Maxion C-GUARD. Engineered for exceptional durability, it keeps wheels looking their best while delivering robust resistance against contamination, even under the harshest road and weather conditions.

“With Maxion C-GUARD, our objective was not to simply create another wheel coating," said Zeferino Neto, Chief Technical Officer of Maxion Wheels. "We set out to engineer a surface technology platform that goes beyond traditional approaches to wheel protection. Rather than focusing solely on corrosion and wear, we looked at how surface performance could help reduce the adhesion of both water- and oil-based contaminants encountered in everyday fleet operations. The result is a proprietary multi-element ceramic solution that delivers exceptional protection and lasting appearance today while providing a foundation for continued innovation.”

The name says it all. The "C" refers to the ceramic chemistry at the heart of the process, while "Guard" reflects its intended purpose: long-term protection and durability. Unlike conventional coatings, Maxion C-GUARD forms a permanent molecular bond with the wheel surface, delivering outstanding resistance to corrosion, chemicals, and physical wear – including chipping and cracking.

Maxion Wheels' solution differs from standard market alternatives through its proprietary multi-element ceramic formulation. Silicon, zirconium, aluminum, zinc, and titanium were each intentionally selected for the distinct functional properties they bring to the surface treatment. In combination, these elements create a balanced performance profile that enhances mechanical strength, chemical resistance, UV stability, and long-term durability more effectively than conventional single-element approaches.

The formulation also supports high gloss and color stability, helping the wheel maintain a premium appearance over time. Maxion C-GUARD was developed as a flexible technology platform designed to support future additional surface enhancements.

“Maxion C-GUARD reflects our focus on purposeful innovation: listening closely to customer needs and translating them into solutions that create measurable value,” said Mark Gerardts, Chief Executive Officer of Maxion Wheels. “As the commercial vehicle industry continues to evolve, we remain committed to developing differentiated technologies that help fleets operate more efficiently while supporting the long-term performance and appearance of their equipment.”

Maxion C-GUARD is a high-performance ceramic surface treatment engineered for durability, ease of maintenance, and long-term value.

Easy to Clean, Thanks to Dual Hydrophobic and Oleophobic Action

Most coatings and surface treatments are designed to repel water-based contamination. Maxion C-GUARD goes further by combining hydrophobic and oleophobic properties in one advanced solution. This dual action helps reduce the adhesion of both water- and oil-based contaminants encountered in daily operations, including brake dust, grease, road grime and salts, and mud. As a result, less dirt accumulates on the wheel surface, making cleaning faster and easier without the need for harsh cleaning products or polishing, while helping preserve the wheel’s appearance over time.

Fleet operators and drivers can count on Maxion C-GUARD to deliver optimum protection and a consistently mirror-like appearance over the long haul, backed by reduced operating costs and minimal maintenance requirements. Performance holds up across all duty cycles – whether long-haul or last-mile delivery.

“The introduction of Maxion C-GUARD highlights the strength of the partnership between Maxion Wheels and Inci Holding," said Mustafa Zaim, President of the Board of Maxion İnci and Maxion Jantaş. "By combining Maxion's global engineering capabilities with the manufacturing expertise and commitment of our teams in Türkiye, we are building a strong platform for innovation, customer value and long-term growth in forged aluminum wheels.”

Produced at the newly established plant in Manisa, Türkiye – a joint investment with Inci Holding – the initial forged aluminum wheel portfolio will include four wheel sizes: 22.5x9.00, 22.5x11.75 ET0, 22.5x11.75 ET120, and 22.5x8.25. Customers can choose from three finish options: premium Maxion C-GUARD, brushed, and polished.

The proprietary multi-element ceramic structure of Maxion C-GUARD forms a permanent molecular bond with the wheel surface and helps repel both water- and oil-based contaminants.
