Each unit is powered by Scania’s formidable 590 hp V8 engine, delivering exceptional torque and drivability—essential for handling abnormal loads, heavy plant, and high-value manufacturing equipment. The 6×2 NB configuration provides the ideal balance of traction, stability, and manoeuvrability, particularly suited to specialist low-loader and modular trailer operations. Recognised for its robustness under sustained heavy-duty use, the Scania S-series chassis offers the perfect platform for the complex, precision-led moves that we undertake every day.

Both vehicles feature Scania’s Highline cabs, providing a flat floor, excellent visibility, and a refined working environment for drivers. Long-distance travel, early starts, and extended site operations are routine, and investing in driver comfort directly supports safety, alertness, and performance. Advanced driver assistance systems, refined aerodynamics, and Scania’s latest transmission technology further enhance drivability and fuel efficiency, delivering tangible operational benefits.

James Merritt, co-owner at Merritts, said: “The addition of these Scania S 590 units to our fleet underscores our commitment to operational excellence and safety. Our team specialises in the complex logistics of moving heavy machinery across the UK and Europe, and this investment ensures we continue to provide the precision our clients expect. These vehicles are a vital extension of our brand, enabling us to deliver on our promise of professional, high-capacity service for every project.”

Finished in Merritts’ distinctive company livery, the new units make a strong visual statement wherever they operate. Their clean lines, modern design, and commanding presence reflect the professionalism and attention to detail that Merritts brings to every project. These vehicles are not just tools of the trade—they are a visible symbol of the company’s capability, scale, and ongoing commitment to investment.

Merritts specialises in heavy industrial machinery movement, transport, and installation, delivering precision-led services to clients across the UK and Europe. Committed to safety, reliability, and operational excellence, the company continually invests in its people, equipment, and technology to maintain the highest standards of service.
