The vehicles, supplied by Renault Truck Commercials on a 3-year repair and maintenance contract, were chosen for their impressive fuel economy, positive driver feedback and the strong relationship with the dealer. These new T480 Turbo Compounds, which replace and upgrade existing Renault Trucks vehicles, operate from Oakland International’s depots in Redditch, Corby, Bardon and Skelmersdale serving nationwide chilled operations for FMCG customers, hauling single and double-decker trailers seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Equipped with Renault Trucks’ latest DE13 TC engine for optimum performance, the engine’s Turbo Compound technology optimises fuel efficiency and performance, providing increased torque, resulting in improved engine responsiveness.  For greater fuel savings, Renault Trucks’ Smart Torque Control solution maximises the time spent in the zone with the best engine efficiency to deliver the required torque when needed.  Additionally, the Optivision Map Based gear shift strategy for FUEL ECO anticipates topography and ECO Cruise control with Optiroll, works to further control fuel consumption.

All thirty vehicles feature Renault Trucks’ optimised cab interior for enhanced driving and onboard comfort. The new layout includes a redesigned dashboard featuring a 12-inch adjustable main digital display and secondary multifunction touchscreen for quick access to applications. The 25th Anniversary vehicle stands out with its striking lime green paint, polished Alcoa alloy wheels, Lightfix top light bar and leather driver’s seat.

The cab interiors are finished in red and feature 4-point cab air suspension, memory foam mattress topper, air conditioning, leather steering wheel, heated and ventilated driver’s seat, “performance” roof console with 4 storage compartments and electric interior sun blind. The vehicles have also all been specified with adjustable roof deflector and side deflectors for improved aerodynamics.
