Located within the Thames Freeport and designed for heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), it provides the reliable, high-capacity power commercial fleets need to electrify operations.

Set to open in February 2026, the site features 16 ultra-rapid chargers, almost all capable of delivering up to 360 kW per vehicle, with round-the-clock access for HGVs and commercial vehicles.

Quick Facts

  • 5 MW grid connection
  • 16 ultra-fast chargers (6 x Extended Bays - Front and Rear, 4 x Tractor Bays)
  • Shared grid access for fair energy use
  • Intelligent energy management for reliability
  • Located at Ferry Road, Tilbury, RM18 7NG

Why Tilbury?

The Port of Tilbury is one of the UK’s busiest logistics hubs, handling over 10,000 vehicle movements daily. As part of the Thames Freeport’s clean energy initiative, the Fleete hub provides a critical ‘clean fuel’ point along the A13 corridor into London, serving fleets operating across the Southeast and beyond.

This project, supported by £1 million in UK Government Freeport seed capital, strengthens Tilbury’s commitment to decarbonisation, clean air, and net-zero logistics.
