Job Description

FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT – SCANIA FINANCIAL SERVICES

As a Financial Accountant you will be the main contact for VAP, IPT and tax, including liaising with HMRC and external consultants. You will also be responsible for internal month end reporting, ONS survey, insurance reporting and internal project work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with the Management Accountants, external auditors, and tax consultants to produce the annual statutory accounts.
  • Liaise with our external tax consultants to assist in the preparation of the tax computation for inclusion in the statutory accounts.
  • Prepare and submit the VAT return ensuring MTD requirements are being met.
  • Review the VAT postings and prepare and submit the VAT return on a quarterly basis.
  • Monitor changes in VAT rules such as change in VAT rates.
  • Liaise with our insurance team and take ownership of month-end reporting requirements.
  • Maintain the insurance balance sheet reconciliations. To be reconciled on a monthly basis.
  • Liaise with our insurance team about reporting requirements for month-end to Head Office. Update the relevant HFM forms for submission.
