Job Description
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with strong industry knowledge and previous experience of running a busy workshop.
You will be efficient and organised with an eye for detail and the ability to influence and motivate your team to realise their full potential.
You will have full responsibility for delivering consistently high levels of customer service and be a strong role model. Business demands require an individual able to perform well in an agile, fast-paced environment, able to multitask whilst supporting the team.
- Planning and co-ordinating technicians’ workload, meeting customer requirements and maximising workshop utilisation and profitability
- Cross check and sign off technicians hours/timesheets
- Liaising with General Manager and Service Reception of weekly resource planning/available workshop hours
- Identify and report warranty repairs and additional repairs, upselling where appropriate
- Inform and consult on vehicle progress to the front of house team
- Manage the flow of information between the workshop and the reception, whilst delivering excellent customer service at all times
- Keep customers informed of progress of their vehicle
- Manage site resources
- Provide technical support to workshop and service advisors
- Manage workshop health and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies
- Welfare of workshop staff
- Strong Team Leader
- Knowledge of commercial vehicles (e.g. Merc / Iveco)
- Ensure checklists and procedures are followed
- Ensure QC procedures in place and followed
- Receive and inspect customers’ vehicles for repairs in-line with company procedures
Requirements of the individual
- Minimum Level 3 NVQ or similar in Automotive Service/ Repair
- Strong automotive heritage with workshop / service centre management experience
- Exceptional level of workmanship and customer service
- Previous experience working with LCV 's an advantage
- Strong Leadership skills
- Clear thinker, demonstrating the ability to stay focussed within a busy environment
- A full clean driving licence
- Good organisational skills
Salary: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year

- Hull, HU9 1SD: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Automotive service / workshop management: 2 years (required)
